BDIA of Vermont is a formal vocational teacher training program for anyone seeking a career as a Ballroom Dance Instructor. Teaching dance is a great career choice for anyone who loves to dance and our course is designed for experienced dancers and absolute beginners alike. The BDIA program is ideal for adults who are considering a career as a dance teacher, or who would like to improve their own dancing.
Our course is based on the highly recognized DVIDA (Dance Vision International Dancers Association) American Ballroom Syllabus. In this dance teacher education course you will learn 17 dances, and how to teach them, over 16 months. The program is divided into 4 sections, taking students through the entire Bronze DVIDA American Style syllabus for the Smooth, Rhythm, and Night Club dances. Sessions begin quarterly and may be taken in any order. This class has no prerequisites; it is open to dancers of any level.
BDIA is a formal vocational program that supports dance teachers at all stages of their careers. We offer professional dance instruction programs for all levels of instructors, from social dancers who are exploring a new career in ballroom dance, to seasoned professionals. We will train you to become a dance teacher, prepare you for professional certification exams, and teach you how to maximize your career in the ballroom dance world.
Purpose of this Program
Participants learn how to dance with technique, effectively teach ballroom dancing to students, and begin a career as a dance professional.
Schedule
Classes will be held on Monday and Thursdays from 5-7 pm at The Champlain Club, 20 Crowley Street, Burlington.
Requirements and Expectations
No prior dance experience is required before beginning the Ballroom Dance Instructors' Academy, although a love of dance and a willingness to help other people enjoy thier lives is expected.
Tuition
Tuition for the program is payable monthly.
